How to prepare for my bloodwork?

To prepare for your blood draw:

  • Bring your photo ID.

  • Bring a copy of your blood draw requisition form.

  • Fast for 12 hours before the blood draw

  • Drink 12-16 oz of water within 60 minutes of your blood draw to ensure proper hydration.

  • Drink only water the morning of the blood draw (no coffee, no tea).

  • Schedule your blood draw for before 10 am.

  • Do not engage in strenuous exercise for two days before the blood test.

  • Do not take supplements within 24 hours of your blood draw.

  • Do not take supplements containing Biotin within 72 hours of your blood draw.

  • Continue medication use as recommended by your physician.

  • Do not consume alcohol within 24 hours of your blood draw.

  • Wait 3 days after flying before doing blood work.

  • If you're sick or on medication that could affect your results, wait until you've recovered and off the medication before getting your bloodwork done.
